Chemiluminescence is used to investigate the oxidative metabolism of blood cells for half a century. Numerous techniques for evaluation monocyte and neutrophil function have been developed. Applying of chemiluminescent analysis in clinical and experimental research has strengthened the ability of laboratory diagnosis of various pathological processes since last decades. In this review, we have described and classified methods of chemiluminescent analysis of blood cells that are promising for use in clinical practice.
