The immunohistochemical expression of MMP-2 and MMP-3 in carcinomas of the stomach, differed by product MUC1, 2, 5AС, 6 and CD10 has been investigated. In mixed carcinomas immunophenotypic variant parameters of studied MMP expression were significantly higher than in tumors of gastric origin that may be indicative of their different malignant potential. In carcinomas of living patients at the time of monitoring, the expression of MMP was significantly lower than in patients who died. Immunoreactivity to MMP-2 in more than 25% of the carcinoma cells, and to MMP-3 – in more than 50% of the cells should be considered as unfavorable prognostic factors of gastric cancer.
